Judge
John M. Rollins, Jr.

John
Marshall Rollins, Jr., was born in Greer, S.C., on September
28, 1961. He is the son of the late John M. Rollins and
Shirlee Rollins. He is a graduate of Greer High School and
received a B.S. in psychology from the University of South
Carolina at Spartanburg in 1984. Judge Rollins received his
J.D. degree from the Cumberland School of Law at Stanford
University in 1988. He was admitted to the South Carolina
Bar in 1988.
Judge
Rollins was a Field Artillery Officer with the S.C. Army National
Guard from 1981 through 1998. Since 1998, he has been a
Major in the U.S. Army Reserves, serving in the Judge Advocate
Generals Corps.
After
law school, Judge Rollins served as the Greenville County Contract
Public Defender from 1991 through 2001. He is certified to
represent individuals charged with crimes punishable by the death
penalty. He has served as the municipal judge for the Town
of Lyman since 1995, and was appointed a magistrate in 2001.
Judge
Rollins is a former chairman of the Spartanburg County Board on
Domestic Abuse, a former member of the Greer Relief Board, a
member of Bailey Lodge #146, and the Greenville Scottish Rite.
